Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has expressed his disappointment following Nigeria’s early exit from the 2024 African Nations Championship. Despite the team’s strong pedigree, Nigeria failed to advance beyond the group stage.

The Eagles lost their opening two matches against Senegal and Sudan but ended their tournament journey on a high note, securing a 2-0 victory over Congo. Goals in the second half from Anas Yusuf and Sikiru Alimi highlighted the team’s potential.

Chelle commended his players for their resilience and determination in the final match. “They played with honour and demonstrated their capabilities. Our only significant regret is the heavy loss to Sudan, but that’s football,” Chelle stated, according to CAFonline.
