China, Venezuela Others Laud Nigerian Arts, Crafts

The People’s Republic of China, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and about 42 other countries have lauded the Nigerian culture, Arts and crafts as a significant expression of the creativity and uniqueness of the Nigerian people.

The envoys of these countries graced the 15th International Arts and Crafts (INAC) Expo 2022, which was hosted in Abuja recently with the theme” Networking Nigerian Crafts to the World.”

 

Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy, Mr Li Xuda, who represented the embassy, said Nigeria is a large country with ancient history and rich cultural heritage. He noted that Nigerian people are proud of their colorful and diverse culture, such as unique tribe dances, various kinds of languages, religions, music, fashion, movies, food as well as arts and crafts.

“With the theme ‘Networking Nigerian Crafts to the World’, this year’s INAC not only provides the world a window to showcase the beautiful Nigeria beyond our imagination, but also build a bridge of friendship to connect the people of all countries with Nigerians.

 

“This year’s fabulous Expo deeply impressed me through its well-organized activities, joyful atmosphere, brilliant booth design, beautiful exhibits, and amazing cultural performances and so on. In my eyes, INAC Expo 2022 really becomes bigger, stronger and better,” he said
He commended the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) and its boss, the director -general Otunba Segun Runsewe, for their excellent job and valuable contribution.
Also speaking to reporters at the event, the Ambassador of Venezuela to Nigeria, David Velasquez, said Nigeria and his country have strong ties and share similarities in culture, history, food and dances.
The director general of NCAC, Según Runsewe, told reporters in an interview that cultural reawakening and connecting Nigeria to the world remain the focus of his administration.
“We have succeeded in using culture to showcase the strength of Nigeria to the world. We must reawaken ourselves because making Nigeria great is the duty of all of us,” he said.

 

He added that the arts and culture sector can generate jobs and reduce crime because it dwells on the creativity of the people.
