Popular Nigerian Record Label, Chocolate City Records has officially unveiled its latest artiste, Tariq Oluokun, aka Tar1q.
Tariq was discovered by record label in 2021 and signed to Nu Trybe as an incubator artiste under the Chocolate City umbrella.
As an artiste, Tar1q started out as a rapper, but his versatility saw his evolution to becoming a creator of his own music style, Afro-Rhythm – a seamless weaving of contemporary Afrobeats, pop, hip-hop and classic R&B.

Tar1q is inspired by artistes like Sade, Wizkid, Kwam1, J Cole, and Davido, and brings a fresh perspective to the music scene, of blending genres and meaningful lyrics, that the label says is in synergy with its commitment to innovation to set an exciting chapter in the world of music.

“This unveiling marks a significant journey for both Tar1q and Chocolate City, as we embark on an exciting journey together, pushing the boundaries of creativity and musical innovation,” read a press release by the Chocolate City Records.
