Christmas: A New Nigeria Is Imminent, Says TNN

Team New Nigeria has congratulated Nigerians on 2024 Christmas, charging Nigerians to hope for a new Nigeria.

In a Christmas message issued yesterday by the TNN’s Directorate of Communications and Public Policy, the group said Nigerians endured a horrendous year, mainly due to government policies.

“We commemorate Christmas as a day reflecting the birth of Jesus Christ, an event of profound spiritual significance for Christians worldwide. Biblically, this day reminds us of Luke 4:18, where Jesus declared, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because He has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord.

“This verse exemplifies Christ’s solidarity with the marginalised and oppressed; therefore, for us, Christmas is a time to reflect on the revolutionary spirit of Christ, who challenged systemic injustice, corruption, and greed.

“As we celebrate the festive season, we are reminded of the millions of refugees across Nigeria who are spending this sacred holiday separated from their families, unsure of their future, but still hoping for a brighter tomorrow—hoping for a new, better, and greater Nigeria,” the group said.
