Mrs Adewumi said the challenges widows face can feel overwhelming, and sometimes, the burden may seem unbearable however,”let me assure you, you are not alone. We are here to walk this journey with you, hand in hand, heart to heart”.

She explained that the foundation was born out of a personal story and a deep-seated passion to make a difference in the society.

She said “growing up, I witnessed my mother struggle as a widow. I saw her carry responsibilities meant for two shoulders on her own, and through her strength, I learned that no challenge is too great when faced with courage, faith, and a helping hand. Her resilience shaped my heart, and her journey ignited my calling.

“I firmly believe that God has entrusted me with this mission to stand in the gap for widows, just as He promises in His Word not to abandon those in need,” she added.

She stressed that the Foundation was more than an organization but a family, a community where widows find support, encouragement, and empowerment to rebuild their lives and rise stronger than ever.

“Here, we provide practical help, emotional support, and spiritual encouragement. Whether it’s financial assistance, skill-building programmes, or just a listening ear and a shoulder to lean on, our goal is to ensure that no widow feels forgotten or forsaken. We aim to restore smiles, rekindle hope, and remind you that your life is far from over.

My sisters, the challenges you face are real, but so is your strength. When one door closes, God opens another. Through this foundation, we want to help you step into the new doors of opportunity, hope, and restoration that God has prepared for you,”.

She further urged the beneficiaries to keep their heads high, hearts open, and faith unwavering knowing that they are loved, cherished, and valued beyond measure.

“Together, we can create a future where smiles replace sorrow and joy overcomes despair,” she added.

LEADERSHIP reports that over 30 widows received bags of rice, wrappers , vegetable oil , cash and other ingredients.
