At the handing over of Hello World Digital Hub to Jama’are community in Jama’are local government area of Bauchi State, CITAD director, Yunusa Zakari Ya’u, said that there have been people in Nigeria who were left behind digitally.
Ya’u said there were four organizations that worked on the Jama’are hub that included, association for progressive communication (APC), 48 per cent, CITAD and Hello World which is a global organization that has been building hubs across the world.

He said, “In fact, statistics from the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF), indicate that there are 27.1 million Nigerians who are living in areas where there is no access to Internet service”.

Ya’u however explained that the internet is a right and necessary thing for every citizen to have, saying “So we are making efforts to make sure that the internet is not only available, but also affordable to people.”

Also at the occasion, the national coordinator, community national network CITAD Project, Haruna Adamu Hadejia however expressed worry over the raging inflationary trend in the country which the project is experiencing in terms of establishing the proposed 20 hubs in Nigeria.
