The Supreme Head of Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria, Dr Solomon Adegboyega Alao, has said the church has concluded plans to meet President Bola Tinubu to discuss the country’s current economic situation.

The Supreme leader, who disclosed this at a world press conference organised to herald the church centenary celebration held on Monday at Seraphim land, Lagos-Ibadan expressway, listed the issues to discuss with President Tinubu, to include hunger, joblessness among youths, and the state of insecurity in the country, among others.

He stated that the centenary celebration programme included the church authority’s visit to President Tinubu and some Governors.

The Supreme Head, represented by the church Secretary-General, Senior Apostle Tayo Ajose, said, “As leaders, part of the issues we intend to discuss with Mr President is the plight of Nigerians. He will listen to us because we know his ears are listening ears.”

Dr Alao also distanced the church from individuals posing as church members while using its identity to welcome fraudulent individuals, popularly known as ‘Yahoo boys, ‘ into the church.

He stated further that the church is set to launch public sensitisation programs to expose impostors.

Responding to journalists’ questions, he stated that the church cannot identify and remove impostors. Still, it focuses on educating the public about the church’s core values and practices.

His words: “We don’t have that massive power. What we can do is to continue bridging the gap and educate people about what is expected of children of God or any religious group. Our real challenge is that, as a church, we don’t have the authority to enforce actions against those outside our fold.
