A non-serving senator who represented Kaduna Central at the 8th National Assembly, Shehu Sani,  has called for collective action in addressing the recent kidnapping incident in Kurmin Wali, Kajuru local government area of Kaduna State.

Reacting to the incident, Sani expressed confidence in the Kaduna State government and security agencies to secure the safe release of the victims, describing their rescue as an urgent priority.

“I have no doubt that the Kaduna State Government and the security agencies will work diligently to secure the release of the captives.

“Working towards securing the release of the hostages now is the priority. Everyone who can contribute should do that, and not play politics with the lives of the people”, he said.

While condemning the attack, Sani praised Governor Uba Sani’s security initiatives, noting that significant progress has been made over the past two years in tackling insecurity across the State.

“Despite this tragic incident, Governor Uba Sani has been doing a lot to secure the State in the last two years, and his efforts should be appreciated”.

The former lawmaker emphasized that crises should not be exploited for political gains, stressing that saving lives and restoring safety must remain the top priority.

He further warned that criminal elements often target vulnerable communities and called for sustained resolve in confronting insecurity.

“Bandits and terrorists will always hit soft targets, and we must never waver in our determination to defeat them and secure our state and country”.

The Kurmin Wali abduction has reignited concerns over security challenges in Kaduna, prompting calls for stronger collaboration between government, security agencies, and local communities to curb banditry and terrorism.
