Commissioner Says Bauchi Gov is a Visionary Leader

As Bauchi State marks its 50th anniversary, the commissioner for Natural Resources Development, Hon. Muhammad Maiwada Bello, has described Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammad as one of the most transformative leaders in the state’s history.

Speaking after the Golden Jubilee celebration at the International Conference Center, Bauchi, Bello described the milestone as a testament to Bauchi State’s resilience, unity, and remarkable progress over the past five decades.

He commended Governor Bala  Mohammed’s administration for prioritising inclusive development, economic diversification, and good governance, noting that strategic leadership has strengthened institutional reforms, infrastructural development, and prudent management of public resources.

These efforts, he said, have positioned Bauchi as a model of sustainable governance.

Highlighting achievements in the natural resources sector, the commissioner emphasised the government’s responsible approach to harnessing the state’s abundant solid minerals.

Other key initiatives include enhanced coordination with federal agencies to ensure compliance with national mining regulations, mineral identification and verification across Bauchi State, promotion of artisanal and small-scale mining and advocacy for environmental responsibility.

“These initiatives aim to boost investment, increase local participation, and create livelihoods, aligning with the Governor’s broader vision for economic growth, revenue generation, and sustainable development,” Hon. Bello stated.

The commissioner reaffirmed the ministry’s dedication to supporting state reforms, attracting responsible investment, and ensuring that natural resource development translates into tangible socio-economic benefits for Bauchi residents.

Bello joined the State Executive Council, citizens, and well-wishers in celebrating the Golden Jubilee, praying for lasting peace, unity, and continued progress, while wishing Governor Bala Mohammed and the people of Bauchi a joyous 50th anniversary.
