The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Kwara State, have hailed the commissioning of some signature projects of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq by the Nigeria’s First Lady, Mrs Oluremi Tinubu during her recent 3- day visit to the state.

The NLC and NUJ in separate statements congratulated Governor AbdulRazaq on the commissioning of the projects and successful hosting of the First Lady.

LEADERSHIP reports that Mrs Oluremi Tinubu, had during the 3-day visit to Kwara commissioned the General Tunde Idiagbon Flyover Bridge, Dr Ibrahim Sulu- Gambari Flyover Bridge, an ICT Centre at Kwara State University of Education, and two projects at Kwara State University Teaching Hospital (KWASUTH), one of which was named after the late Tafida of Ilorin, Dr Amuda Aluko.

The NLC, in a letter to the governor signed by its chairman,Comrade Murtala Olayinka, lauded Governor AbdulRazaq’s unwavering commitment to the state’s growth and progress.

It noted that the impactful projects being executed by the governor “have  not only enhanced infrastructure but also improved the lives of our people, fostering economic development and social well-being.”

“As a stakeholder in the development of our state, the NLC recognises and appreciates your dedication to good governance, and we remain hopeful that your administration will continue to prioritise the welfare of workers and the general populace. Once again, congratulations, Your Excellency. May your tenure continue to bring more prosperity to Kwara State,” it added.

The NUJ in a statement issued by its chairman, Abdullateef  Ahmed, and secretary, Olayinka Alaya, applauded the first lady’s visit, describing it as a testament to the state’s growing relevance at the national level.

The union particularly celebrated the Governor for the commissioning of a number of signature projects, which it noted, would significantly enhance the state’s economy and social development

It acknowledged AbdulRazaq administration’s commitment to infrastructural advancement with key legacy projects commissioned during the first lady’s visit, especially the two newly constructed flyovers, named in honour of the Emir of Ilorin, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari; and the late General Tunde Idiagbon.

The union emphasised that these projects, alongside the tour of strategic economic sites such as the Sugar Factory Film Studio, the Innovation Hub, and the Garment Factory, by the First Lady and her team, would further position Kwara State as a key player in national and international development.
