Gwaram local government community association under the umbrella of “Inuwar Gwaram” has commended the Jigawa State governor, Malam Umar Namadi for allocating over ₦2 billion capital project to their area in the 2024 budget.
The commendation was contained in a press statement issued by the chairman of the group, Comrade Yunusa Hamza (Tafidan Farin Dutse) ) and made available to newsmen in Dutse.
According to the statement, all the projects captured in the budget have direct bearing to the needs of people and wpuld transform the social and economic life of the citizens if executed.
The statement added that the 12-point agenda of the governor has already started making a difference in the area as thousands of farmers and youths have been empowered with different skills training and grants.
According to the group, the agricultural policy of the governor has already started attracting federal government and foreign interventions.
“Today, Jigawa State is critical in national food security as declared by the minister of Information,” they said.
The statement further revealed that the rehabilitation of Gwaram-Basirika road captured in the 2024 budget with an allocation of ₦1 billion, if executed, will facilitate the movement of goods and services which will enhance the economic viability of the state.
“₦500 million was allocated for Basirika township road. Other projects captured in the budget for the area included erosion control, construction of Sara Bridge, culvert, drainages and rehabilitation of Fagam constituency electrification which was disconnected for over 20 years.”
The group than called on the good people of Gwaram local government, and Jigawa state citizens in respect of political affiliation to join hands with governor in his quest to make Jigawa “great” with sustainable growth and development.
