Confederations Cup: Borno Govt Vows To Support El-Kanemi FC

The Borno State government has promised to give El-Kanemi Warriors all the necessary support needed to prosecute their continental campaign next season.

Idris Kemdy, senior special assistant to Governor Babagana Zulum on youths and sports, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on the sidelines of the 2024 President Federation final at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, on Saturday in Lagos.

He said the El-Kanemi would not lack anything.as Zulum has promised to give adequate support to the team in their continental campaign next season.

“It is exciting that we are able to win the 2024 President Federation Cup after many years, all thanks to our dynamic Governor who has been supporting the team.

“Our Governor has promised more support to the sport because he is a working one.

“Zulum has directed his deputy Umar Kadafur to see to the good outing of the club and that is the reason why everything went well.

“The Governor is giving his full support to El-Kanemi Warriors so that they can do well in the continent playing in the CAF Confederation Cup,” he said.
Kemdy said that though it could be a difficult campaign in the confederation cup, he was optimistic the team will do well.

“Playing in the continental competition may be a bit difficult, going by the experience of other teams; we will want to correct our mistakes.

“We will carefully study the situation and come out with the best approach to ensure that El-Kanemi performs better in the continental campaign.

“The governor has promised his full financial and moral support to the club towards their campaign in the NPFL, to defend their president federation cup and CAF Confederations cup,” he said.
