Court Grants Bouncer N5m Bail For Alleged Attempted Murder Of Tenant

Akwa Ibom State High Court has granted bail to a bouncer and landlord, Mr Hope Henry Ekong, who is standing trial for attempting to murder one Miss Rachael Nkop Samuel, his tenant, for allegedly refusing his sexual advances.

The viral video of unrestrained brutal assaults on the victim, with severe bodily injuries to her head, legs and thighs, which surfaced on social media last month, had attracted the attention of the Offices of the Acting Akwa Ibom First Lady, Mrs Helen Eno- Obareki; Deputy Governor, Dr Akon Eyakenyi and other concerned authorities, prompting his immediate arrest by the Gender-based Violence (GBV) Committee.
