The Federal High Court sitting Minna in Niger State presided by Justice Aminu Garba has ordered that all originating and subsequent processes be served on Hon Abubakar Lado Abdullahi, member representing Suleja/Tafa/Gurara federal constituency for alleged case of forgery.
The order followed the inability of the court to serve the member directly and personally as required by law.
The plaintiff in the case, Haruna Abubakar Arafat has filed the originating summons before Justice Aminu Garba challenging the qualification of Abubakar Lado Abdullahi to contest in the 2023 general election.
The plaintiff’s counsel, Aliyu Hussaini, submitted that he was compelled to move an ex parte application for substituted service on the first respondent, Abubakar Lado Abdullahi for allegedly evading service.
Justice Garba thereafter adjourned the case to the 7th of October 2022 for the commencement of the hearing.
Joined in the suit are the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Lado and Arafat both emerged winners in parallel primaries and had laid claim to the ticket until INEC published the name of Lado last week as the recognised candidate.
