A Yola High Court has dismissed a suit seeking deposition of the first class chief of Lunguda, Kuruhaye Dishon Dansanda ll.
Mr Baba Gashemuru Amalai and seven others of Bongkumbebe ruling clan approached the court challenging the selection process which led to the emergence of incumbent Kwandi Nunguraya.
They told the court that the exercise was faulty, as there was no exchange of traditional stones between the Bongkumbebe and Bonsibe ruling classes of the chiefdom.
They also alleged that Wulbina Jackson, the commissioner for education, had assisted a blind man who happened to be among the eight kingmakers to vote, which contravened the norms of the selection process.
Justice Nathan Musa in his judgment, declared that the court had carefully evaluated the evidence of the plaintiffs’ witnesses who testified and had fallen short of proving the claim.
He said; “On the whole, therefore, this suit having been unapproved is accordingly dismissed.”
