Cristiano Ronaldo Junior has been selected for Portugal’s Under-17 squad for the first time, marking another step in the young forward’s international development.
The 16-year-old, widely known as “Cristianinho,” was named among the 23 players chosen by Portugal U-17 head coach Filipe Ramos for the team’s upcoming UEFA European Under-17 Championship qualifying fixtures.
Ronaldo Jr. is currently part of the youth setup at Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr, where his father, Cristiano Ronaldo, plays senior football.
He first represented Portugal at international level with the Under-15 side in May 2025. He was promoted to the Under-16 team a few months ago and scored three goals in nine appearances.
Portugal will meet Andorra, Bulgaria and Serbia in this month’s U-17 European Championship qualifying matches.
