Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 50th goal for Al Nassr to give his side a 1-0 win over Al Ahli and cement second place in the Saudi Pro League Friday’s night.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner struck the game’s only goal from the penalty spot in the 68th minute after an intervention from VAR led to the referee awarding a foul in Al Ahli’s box.
His 50 goals have come in 58 games across the Saudi Pro League, Asian Champions League, King’s Cup, Super Cup and Arab Club Champions Cup.
Ronaldo joined Al Nassr at the end of 2022 following his acrimonious exit from Manchester United.
The 39-year-old thought he had opened the scoring in the first half for Al Nassr on Friday only for the goal to be ruled out for offside.
Former Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino later suffered the same fate when he found the net for Al Ahli.
The win ended a disappointing run of form for Al Nassr, which saw them drop further behind Saudi Pro League leaders Al Hilal and exit the Asian Champions League on Monday at the hands of Al Ain.
Al Nassr trail Al Hilal by nine points, having played a game more. Al Ahli sit nine points further back in third.
