Crystal Palace have identified Chibuike Nwaiwu as a potential replacement for Maxence Lacroix, with the French centre-back closing in on a £52 million move to Chelsea.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Palace have already agreed terms with Chelsea for Lacroix’s departure.
Sky’s Florian Plettenberg adds that both Nwaiwu and FC Augsburg’s Chrislain Matsima are under consideration at Selhurst Park, though Matsima remains the club’s primary target. Augsburg have turned down a €20 million bid from Palace for the 24-year-old.
Nwaiwu, meanwhile, has already agreed personal terms with Fulham, who have pursued the Trabzonspor defender intensively in recent weeks.
The Nigerian international, who joined Trabzonspor from Wolfsberger AC in January, is valued at €30 million by the Turkish club.
