Patrick Vieira, the former Arsenal midfielder and ex-Crystal Palace boss, is currently in discussions to take over as head coach of Senegal’s national team.
According to Foot Mercato (via Fabrizio Romano), negotiations are ongoing for the Frenchman to succeed Pape Thiaw as the Teranga Lions’ manager.
However, the report notes that discussions are still in their early stages, with no final agreement yet in place.
The Senegalese Football Federation has shown strong interest in the 48-year-old, who has previously managed Nice, Strasbourg, and Genoa, to fill the vacant position.
The move follows Senegal’s decision to part ways with Thiaw after the team’s Round of 32 exit at the World Cup, where they lost to Belgium.
