The Save Nigeria Movement (SNM) has applauded Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia for his leadership strides and political capacity, which have helped him to deliver on his campaign promises so far.
The group said Alia had made tremendous impact on the various sectors and the people of the state.
In a press release issued yesterday by SNM convener, Rev. Solomon Semaka, he said the governor had fulfilled his social contract with the people and even exceeded the expectations of average Benue indigenes and other Nigerians.
Semaka said through his performance, Alia had proved wrong those who rated him as a political neophyte.
He said in contemporary Nigeria, no leader who comes prepared for the task at hand such as Alia would fail.
“By studying the pitfalls of the previous administrations and their obvious gaffes, Alia has pioneered unconventional approaches to governance with astonishing results to the admiration of even his critics and those in the opposition,” Semaka said.
He lauded the governor for prudently managing scarce resources and avoiding the wastes that characterised previous administrations.
The SNM convener said Governor Alia had in less than one year, cleared the salaries and pension arrears owed civil servants for close to a year by the previous administration, constructed and awarded over 200 kilometers of rural and urban roads across the state, among other things.
He said the governor had also pioneered the construction of flyover bridges and underpasses in the major towns of the state to ease traffic flow and beautify the state towards bolstering the tourism industry.
