Speaking at the press conference, yesterday in Abuja, the convener, CCSNN, Comrade Muhammad Sadiq said that the group remains dedicated to promoting civic education, transparency, and accountability in governance.

Sadiq stated that, “The affirmation by the highest court reinforces the trust citizens placed in the judiciary to adjudicate electoral matters transparently and impartially.”

He emphasised the group’s dedication to promoting civic education, transparency, and accountability in governance. He commended the justices for their commitment to the constitutional process and safeguarding the integrity of the democratic system.

According to Sadiq, “The recent decision of the Supreme Court affirming the legitimacy of Governor Dauda Lawal’s election is a resounding validation of the electoral process, bringing immense happiness and relief to the people of Zamfara State.”

He lauded the Supreme Court for demonstrating unwavering independence and commitment to impartiality in its decision-making process, fortifying the foundations of the democratic society.

Sadiq stated, “This verdict not only upholds the democratic will of the citizens but also reinforces faith in the judicial system as a pillar of justice and fairness.”

Highlighting the significance of the ruling, he said that the mandate bestowed upon the elected governor by the citizens of Zamfara State, showcased the resilience and maturity of democratic institutions.

He also commended the citizens of Zamfara State for their commitment to peaceful coexistence throughout the legal process. Sadiq noted, “The joy expressed by the people is not just a celebration of a legal victory but also an expression of restored confidence in the electoral and judicial systems.”

Extending heartfelt congratulations to the people of Zamfara State for the affirmation of their democratic choice, he underscored the importance of a robust and independent judiciary in sustaining democratic ideals.

Sadiq added, “We call on all stakeholders to respect and uphold the rule of law, encouraging continued commitment to democratic ideals, ethical conduct, and peaceful engagement in the political landscape.”
