The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has launched a live chat feature on its official website and WhatsApp support platform to provide Nigerians and legal residents faster, more convenient and real-time access to support services.

In a statement issued by the head of Corporate Communications Unit, Kayode Adegoke, the commission said the initiative reflects its commitment to service innovation, citizen-centered engagement and efficient identity management service delivery in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aimed at improving public sector efficiency and enhancing access to government services through technology-driven solutions.

He said the new platforms, which are parts of ongoing reforms and digital transformation initiatives under the leadership of Engr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote, are designed to provide prompt responses to enquiries, real-time guidance and improved customer interaction from anywhere and at any time.

The initiative will reduce the need for physical visits while enhancing user experience and operational efficiency.

Under the leadership of Coker-Odusote, the commission said it would continue to implement strategic reforms and innovative digital solutions focused on expanding access, strengthening public trust, and improving service delivery for all Nigerians and legal residents.

The commission encouraged members of the public to take advantage of the official communication platforms for verified information, prompt assistance, and regular updates regarding NIN services and other identity management matters.
