Ahead of the 2023 general elections with political parties intensifying their strategies to take over power, a renowned political icon and stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC), former managing director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Barr Chief Bassey Dan-Abia, yesterday, was decorated a Grand Patron of Movement for Good Governance and Ethical Leadership (MGGEL).
Chief Dan-Abia, who is currently a Federal Commissioner of the Nigeria Law Reform Commission, says the 2023 presidential election is not for newcomers but for candidates with track records and antecedents of performance and effective leadership.
MGGEL is a political support platform for the Tinubu/Shettima presidential campaign project.
A group which is committed to the same ideals that Dan-Abia strongly stands for in meeting the aspirations of Nigerians and utilization of resources for the benefit of Nigerians.
He said, “Nigeria enterprise is too serious a business to be left in the hands of new kids on the block, it is for people with antecedents.”
However, he pointed, “That is why I said of all the gladiators out there, maybe some of them will be President in the future if it’s the wish of God but certainly 2023 is for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, The Jagaban of Nigeria.”
Meanwhile, the group is made up of reputable personalities who have proven records of achievements in nation-building, which include Chief Jerry Nwohu, BoT chairman;
others are Hon. (Mrs) Esther Joseph Bepeh, deputy national chairman, South; Alhaji Abdulkareem Musa, national director, Contact and Mobilization; Alhaji Mubarak Muhammed, national director, Intra-Party Affairs and Policy Matters; Prince Tayo Oluwole, national director, Research and Planning; Amb. H. K. Bello, DG/convener; and Dr Cliff Ogbede national secretary.
