Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly called Davido, has added yet another feather to his cap on Sunday night, as he clinched the ‘Digital Artiste of the Year’ award at the prestigious Headies Awards, held at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos.

The “Timeless” hitmaker was honoured for his outstanding online presence, massive streaming numbers, and consistent engagement with fans across digital platforms globally.

Davido, who is celebrated as one of Africa’s most influential artists, has maintained a dominant online footprint, with billions of streams across platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and Audiomack.

LEADERSHIP reports that it was a double celebration for Davido at the 2025 Headies as he did not only win an award but also played a special role in the ceremony by presenting the ‘Next Rated’ award to rising star Odumodublvck.

Davido’s win further cements his reputation as one of the most influential digital forces from Africa, following a record-breaking 2023 where his album ‘Timeless’ earned him an international Grammy nomination, and some of the highest first-week streaming numbers for an African album.
