The suspects who were five men included Muazu Awuta aged 30 years, Abdullahi Abubakar, 32 years, Ozeru Sabo, 25, Saddam Suleiman, 27 and Bashir Yahaya, 28.

According to him, all the suspects hail from Jau local government area of Jigawa State and have provided useful information to the police on other gang members now on the run.

The police added that “the command intends to carry out further DNA confirmatory test to ascertain the identities of the deceased.

“Intense operation is still ongoing in the forest and other identified black spots with the aim of stamping out all forms of crime and criminality in the state.”

Meanwhile, other communities in Ndegwu, Orogwe and Irete in Owerri West local government area have raised the alarm over alleged recurring abduction in the areas.
