The North Central All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman, Alhaji Mu’azu Bawa Rijau, has said President Bola Tinubu will win the 2027 presidential election based on the wave of defections into the APC.
He spoke at the weekend in Minna during the flag off campaigns for the November 1 local government election in Niger State.
So far, three Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors, namely, Sherif Oboriewori (Delta); Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom); and Peter Mbah (Enugu) have defected to the APC.
Although Bayelsa State governor, Senator Douye Diri, has dumped PDP, he is yet to identify with a political party.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and governor Mohammed Umar Bago will win their second term elections come 2027, considering the several high profile people decamping to APC in recent time,” Rijau said.
Rijau said APC has 25 governors in the country and is leading in the number of senators and House of Representative members. He added that more high profile politicians will join the ruling party soon.
The North Central chairman however charged the party leadership in the state to carry everyone along in order to achieve unity and stability within the party towards expected victory in 2027.
Also speaking at the event Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago, assured that the state and federal government were partnering to end security challenges confronting the state and Nigeria.
He said the challenges would be overcome in no distant future, to enhance peace, stability and development.
Bago urged the electorates to come out en masse to vote for the APC candidates during the November 1, 2025 local government areas election to symbolise the victory ahead in 2027.
