Dogara Celebrates Thomas Etuh At 60, Hails His Transformative Impact On Nigeria’s Economy

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara has congratulated renowned businessman and industrialist, Mr Thomas Akoh Etuh, on the occasion of his 60th birthday, describing him as one of Nigeria’s most consequential private-sector leaders whose contributions have strengthened national development across key sectors.

Dogara praised Etuh’s far-reaching impact across agriculture, finance, telecommunications, and industrial development, describing his journey as one of the most compelling private-sector success stories in contemporary Nigeria. He particularly commended Etuh’s leadership in transforming the fertiliser and agribusiness landscape, a reform effort he said empowered millions of farmers, revitalised rural economies, and strengthened national food security.

According to Dogara, Etuh’s work in the sector helped reposition fertiliser from a politicised commodity to a strategic tool for economic empowerment and self-reliance, significantly reducing Nigeria’s dependence on imports and advancing inclusive growth.

The former Speaker also highlighted Etuh’s corporate leadership, especially his current role as Chairman of the Board of 9mobile, where he noted that Etuh demonstrated uncommon capacity to stabilise and reposition complex institutions at defining moments.
