Time is running out to register for the 11th Okpekpe International 10km Road Race, scheduled for May 23, 2026. Race Director Zack Amodu confirms that registration, which commenced in early March, is still welcoming athletes and non-athletes alike.
Prospective participants can register online via the race’s official website, www.okpekperoadrace.com. Alternatively, physical registration forms can be downloaded from the website or collected in person at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City. Completed PDF forms can be scanned and submitted electronically to [email protected].
Amodu stressed that all entrants must agree to the World Athletics rules and regulations governing road races. This historic event, the first world-class road running event in Nigeria and West Africa and the first to achieve Gold Label status from World Athletics, caters to both professional athletes vying for prizes and individuals running for leisure, fitness, or charitable causes.
Following its cancellation last year, organisers are promising a “stronger, better and in a more glamorous manner” return for the 2026 edition.
