Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State on Saturday declared that the promised 2.7 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election remained “settled and achievable,” as the All Progressives Congress (APC) conducted its presidential primaries across the country.

Okpebholo spoke at his ancestral home in Uwessa, Esan Central Local Government Area of the state, where large numbers of APC faithful, supporters and party delegates participated in the exercise amid heightened political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Addressing journalists shortly after casting his vote for President Tinubu, the governor expressed confidence that the turnout witnessed during the primaries reflected growing acceptance of the APC administration and President Tinubu’s leadership in Edo State.

According to Okpebholo, “You can see how happy the people are coming out to vote massively for Mr President. That is exactly how it is across Edo State. By the grace of God, this same spirit and momentum will reflect during the general election in 2027.”

He added that the APC remained strongly positioned in the state, insisting that the vote target was realistic.

“The 2.7 million votes we promised Mr President in Edo State is settled already. I know there are people who do not want to hear this, but it is very possible and achievable. Edo people are ready, APC is ready, and we are simply waiting for 2027,” the governor stated.

Shortly after participating in the primary election, Okpebholo visited the ongoing construction of the 150-bed specialist hospital in Uromi, Edo Central, where he reiterated his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development, healthcare delivery and grassroots governance.
