The Joint Task Force North West, “Operation Fansan Yamma” has appointed Captain S.O. Tamuno as its acting media information officer.
He takes over from Lt-Col. Aliyu Danja, who has been posted to another formation of the Nigerian Army.
Danja announced his exit in a farewell message to journalists on Sunday.
He thanked the media for their support, cooperation and professionalism throughout his tenure.
According to him, journalists played significant role in communicating operational achievements, sacrifices and successes of troops in the joint operation area.
“The cordial working relationship, commitment to accurate reporting, timely inquiries and responsible dissemination of information contributed to projecting activities of the operation,” Danja said.
He urged journalists to extend same cooperation to his successor, expressing confidence that Captain Tamuno will sustain and strengthen the relationship between the operation and the media.
“Operation Fansan Yamma” is the joint operation covering Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina and parts of Kaduna and Niger States against banditry and terrorism.
