The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced that it will operate three train trips on the Lagos–Ibadan Train Service (LITS) corridor on Monday, March 23, 2026, in response to the high passenger turnout recorded during the Sallah travel period.
NRC’s chief public relations officer, Callistus Unyimadu, said the additional trip is aimed at easing passenger movement and providing more travel options for commuters returning to their destinations after the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
Under this arrangement, train departures from the Lagos end (Mobolaji Johnson Station, Ebute Metta) will be at 7:40 a.m., 1:40 p.m., and 4:00 p.m., while from the Ibadan end (Obafemi Awolowo Station, Moniya), departures will be at 8:00 a.m., 10:50 a.m., and 4:30 p.m.
“The management of the Nigerian Railway Corporation assures passengers of its continued commitment to safe, reliable, and efficient rail transport services,” Unyimadu stated.
“Passengers are advised to arrive early at the stations, comply with ticketing and security procedures, and plan their journeys accordingly,” he said.
