Ogunmegbokanle Ruling House of Osi-Ekiti in Ido/Osi local government area of Ekiti State has written the state government demanding for its candidate inclusion in the community’s traditional ruler selection process.

The family, in a letter addressed to the Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, through their solicitors, Morakinyo Ogele and Co, also requested that the state government officially recognise the family as one of the bonafide ruling houses having the right to the throne of Olosi of Osi.

According to the family, the renewed call for its inclusion as one of the recognised Osi-Ekiti Ruling Houses is a sequel to the injustice done to Ogunmegbokanle Ruling House, which dates back to history.

They lamented that none of Ogunmegbokanle’s descendants, who happened to be the foremost Olosi of Osi Ekiti, had been allowed to ascend the throne of their forefather since his reign long ago.
The ruling house called on the state government to add or include Ogunmegbokanle in the existing ruling houses in Osi-Ekiti and, if possible, permit them to provide a candidate for the ongoing selection process since the current Oba elected and his family have yet to resolve their differences.

They also urged the state government to constitute a chieftaincy panel to confirm the historical record of the town of Osi-Ekiti.
