The wife of the Jigawa State Governor, Hajiya Amina Umar Namadi, has called on Northern women to embrace entrepreneurship to achieve self-reliance, eradicate poverty, and boost the national economy.
Namadi made the call while speaking at the “Arewa Festival” organised by Tripoint Academy under the leadership of Hajiya Shuhda. The event was held in Dutse, the capital of Jigawa State.
Represented by her special assistant, Hajiya Maryam Muhammad, the state’s first lady said the Renewed Hope Agenda and the Jigawa State 12-Point Agenda provide numerous opportunities for women, offering various grants to help them start businesses of their choice.
She explained that women now have no reason to fold their arms and remain dependent on their husbands’ or brothers’ incomes. She maintained that they have the opportunity to establish their own businesses and contribute their share to the family, community, and national economy.
“There are many business opportunities within our communities, including both traditional and modern enterprises. Therefore, I am calling on our fellow women to seize these opportunities and build a sustainable and self-reliant future for the betterment of their families and society at large,” Namadi
