The National Emergency Management Agency, Lagos Operations Office (NEMA LOO) has commenced the 2025 Operation Eagle Eye to promote road safety during the yuletide
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the operation, which began on Wednesday, is in collaboration with the Lagos and Ogun States Sector Commands of the Federal Road Safety Corps.
The exercise kicked off at OPIC Junction along the Lagos–Ibadan expressway corridor.
The head of Operations, NEMA LOO, Mr Mohammed Olatunde, said that the exercise was to promote safety during the festive season.
Olatunde said that NEMA LOO supports the FRSC with its Medical Intensive Care Unit and Search and Rescue extrication units for prompt response to any road traffic accidents.
He added that Operation Eagle Eye continues as part of efforts to promote road safety during the festive season.
NAN also reports that the exercise was carried out by a joint team of NEMA LOO, the FRSC Lagos Sector Commander, Kehinde Hamzat, and the Ogun State Sector Commander, Akinwunmi Fasakin.
The joint team worked to ensure a free flow of traffic on the already congested route, caused by the heavy movement of motorists and commuters traveling for the yuletide.
Traffic outward Lagos built up due to increased vehicular movement, was controlled and monitored by officials of NEMA LOO and the FRSC.
