Leading the engineers on a road walk, the chairman of the chapter, Engr. Usman Muhammad Falalu, urged potential house owners to always engage the services of professional engineers.

He said, “The walk is against building and infrastructure collapse, it is part of our efforts to say no to building collapse, for people to build right and build safe through patronising professional civil engineers.”

Chairman of the Kaduna State chapter of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Engr. Arige Samson Bawa, said professional engineers were not happy with the rate of building collapse.

“This road walk is to encourage people to stop patronising quacks who call themselves engineers and engage in sub-standard buildings which collapse, eventually causing loss of lives and property,” he said.
