Nigerian Breweries Plc-Felix Ohiwerei Trust Fund has announced the extension for submitting entries for the 2024 Maltina Teacher of the Year competition.

In a statement, the competition organisers said the deadline, which was initially slated to end on Friday, July 19, 2024, has now been extended to Friday, August 2, 2024, to accommodate more participants.

Speaking on the rationale behind the new development, the Corporate Affairs Director, Nigerian Breweries Plc, Mrs. Sade Morgan revealed that the decision to extend the deadline resulted from calls by teachers asking for more time to apply and submit their entries for the competition.

She disclosed that the 10th edition of the Maltina Teacher of the Year competition is open to all secondary school teachers in both public and private schools in Nigeria, adding that the competition remains an effective intervention program focused on recognising teachers’ contribution to Nigeria’s education sector.

She encouraged eligible teachers who have met all the requirements in both public and private secondary schools to take advantage of this extension to apply for the competition.

“The first runner-up of the competition will equally receive a trophy and a total sum of N3,000,000, while the second runner-up receives a trophy and the sum of N2,500,000. All state champions will be rewarded with recognition plaques and a cash prize of N1,000,000 each,” she added.
