Fulham and Everton have agreed a £22m deal for the transfer of Alex Iwobi, including add-ons, Sky Sports News reported.

Sam Dean added that Iwobi is now undergoing his medicals with the club, and it seems he’s set to finalise his transfer before the transfer deadline.

Former Gunner Iwobi spent the last four years with Everton, making well over 100 appearances across four full seasons and the beginning of the current campaign.

But the 27-year-old was unwilling to extend his Everton contract, so a summer transfer started to seem somewhat inevitable.

The Nigerian international will now return to London with Fulham, in a move that he’ll hope will help him to rise up the Premier League table.

Everton finished four points clear of the relegation zone in 2021/22, two points clear of the relegation zone in 2022/23, and they currently sit bottom of the table with no points after three games.

By contrast, Fulham has been promoted to the Premier League and broken into the top half during that same period. They seem to be heading in a more positive direction.

The deal for Iwobi should be announced imminently, but Arsenal won’t face off against him until December 30th, having just played their home match against Fulham last weekend.

Iwobi featured in all of Everton’s 38 Premier League games throughout the 2022-2023 campaign and provided a club-high seven assists.

The versatile midfield dynamo was named the club’s Player of the Year after his contribution helped Everton escape relegation on the final day of the season.

Fulham, though, will present Iwobi with fresh challenges as the club aims to finish in the top half of the Premier League table.

At Fulham, Iwobi will reunite with manager Marco Silva, the coach who engineered his transfer from Arsenal to Everton four years ago.

Iwobi scored nine goals in 140 appearances for the Goodison Park outfit but now appears destined to move to The Cottage.
