The international break is over, and Premiership fans will be looking to enjoy top-class football action as English Premier League action resumes this weekend, October 21, with intriguing fixtures in week 9 to look out for.

The biggest clash this weekend will see Chelsea take on Arsenal in an epic clash at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. While Liverpool battle Everton in a Merseyside derby. Also, EPL champions Manchester City will aim to return to winning ways when they host giant killers Brighton & Hove Albion at Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

Liverpool Vs. Everton:

Liverpool will resume their 2023/24 English Premier League campaign with a brutal first Merseyside derby of the season at Anfield on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp’s side comes into the match on the back of a 2-2 draw against Brighton and Hove Albion. On the other hand, Everton defeated Bournemouth 3-0 in their last league fixture.

The Reds have been impressive over the past year and are fourth on the EPL table with 17 points, just three points behind leaders Tottenham Hotspur.

Klopp’s side have won all their five home games this season – netting at least two goals on each occasion.

The Toffees have not been at their best so far this season and are 16th with seven points from eight games with just one point from the last six matches, and manager Sean Dyche will hope to avoid defeat at Anfield.

Liverpool has an impressive historical record against Everton and has won 124 out of the 293 matches against Everton’s 83 wins.

Chelsea Vs. Arsenal:

The Blues are in 11th place in the Premier League standings and have not been at their best this season. The home side thrashed Burnley by 4-1 before the international break and will be eyeing three points to boost their chances of playing European football next season.

Arsenal have been in impressive form this season and are second on the table. The Gunners edged Manchester City to a crucial 1-0 victory in their previous game and will look to take it up a notch this weekend.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has not lost a home Premier League game against Arsenal, recording three wins and three draws in charge of Southampton and Spurs.

With wins over Brighton & Hove Albion and Fulham, Chelsea has prevailed in three consecutive fixtures for the first time since Graham Potter’s final few weeks in March 2023 but has been struggling since the start of the season.

Inform Arsenal, who have won each of their last three Premier League fixtures at Stamford Bridge will hope to continue on the run.

Man City also boast an impressive record against Brighton as they have never lost in 13 previous home league meetings, winning 11 and drawing two; City have won each of their last nine home encounters with the Seagulls by an aggregate score of 24-3, including a 3-1 victory last season.

Brighton enters Saturday’s contest at the Etihad, having failed to win any of their last three matches away from home.
