The Etsu Nupe and chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, has said the diversities in ethnicity, religion and culture of Nigeria should be explored for unity and peace.
The monarch, who made the call during the closing of Ramadan Tafsir at the Maasaba Jumma’at Mosque in Bida yesterday, reminded Muslims of the need to be selfless.
While harping on the need for sustainable peace and unity in the country, the Etsu Nupe, posited that God created Nigerians differently for a purpose as he never makes mistakes.
He said whatever may be viewed as the differences between Nigerians should also be used to make Nigeria more united rather than being used to divide the nation.
He therefore urged Muslims to continue to extend love to others and practice the act of selfless service to humanity beyond the holy month of Ramadan.
The royal father appealed to wealthy individuals and philanthropists to continue to show gratitude by helping others and also exhibit total submission to God’s commandments.
