Ex-Army Spokesman Texas Chukwu Laid To Rest

Body of a former director, Army Public Relations (DAPR), Brig Gen Jude Texas Ezeh Chukwu (rtd), has been laid to rest at the Guards Brigade Cemetery, Lungi, Abuja.

The late senior officer passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at his residence in Abuja.

The body of Brig Gen Chukwu arrived at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Mambila Barracks, where a funeral service was held in his honour before it was conveyed to the Guards Brigade Cemetery for final interment.

In a statement by the director, Army Public Relations, Brig Gen Onyema Nwachukwu, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Faruk Yahaya during a funeral oration described Chukwu as a brilliant, diligent resourceful and meticulous senior officer who had an unblemished record throughout his career in the army.

The COAS who was represented by Brig Gen Agada Ameh eulogised the late senior officer for his forthrightness, remarkable and overwhelming moral standard which helped to inspire young officers.

He, therefore, prayed that God Almighty grants his soul eternal rest.

Brig. Gen. Chukwu rose through the ranks to become the director, Army Public Relations from February 26 to December 3, 2018.

He was later appointed a Resource Fellow at the Army Resource Centre, Abuja. Before then, he was Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Public Relations and Information (NASPRI), Lagos, among several other appointments.

The late Brig Gen Chukwu who hailed from Awgu local government area of Enugu State was born on December 24, 1966 in Makurdi, Benue State.
