Ondo State Security Network Agency known as Amotekun has arrested a 21-year-old drug dealer, Simon Matthew, four days after he was released from the correctional centre where he went to serve a jail term.

Simon, a native of Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, was paraded alongside 29 suspects allegedly involved in various criminal activities across the state

The ex-convict was arrested when he attempted to sell cables he allegedly stole from a shop on 4th January, 2024, four days after he was released on January 1 from the correctional facility.

Parading the suspects at the headquarters of the corps in Akure, the state capital yesterday, the commander of Amotekun in the state, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, said Simon had been convicted for drug and robbery activities and that was exactly what he did again.

Adeleye said, “You will recall that we have made it cleared that there was not going to be any nature of bank robbery, robbery operations in Ondo state throughout the last ember months, I want to thank the men and officers of the Ondo State Security Network Agency codenamed, Amotekun Corps, the Police, Civil Defence, DSS and other security agents that joined hands in ensuring that the safety of lives and properties in Ondo state was not compromised.’’
