Ex-Imo Deputy Governor Resigns From APC

Erstwhile Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere, has resigned membership from his of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).

He served as Deputy Governor to Senator Rochas Okorocha after the removal of Chief Jude Agbaso and for his second term which ended May 29th, 2019.

He resigned in a letter addressed to the ward chairman of Ezinihitte Ward, Mbieri, in the Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State dated March 17th, 2026.

Already, the letter had been acknowledged by Hon. ugochukwu Udeh, same March 17th.

Madumere said it was to enable him explore new paths, and expressed hopes to maintain the cordial relationship he had built with his chairman.

The letter read “I write to formally notify you of my decision to resign my membership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) effective immediately.

“The decision, though difficult, has become necessary after a deep personal reflection on my political journey with the party. I sincerely feel it is time for me to explore new paths.

“It is my utmost desire and expectation that we all continue to maintain the cordial relationship that we have built together over the years, in our collective desire to build a better Nigeria.

“Thank you for your understanding. Please accept my best wishes always. March 17, 2036. Prince Eze Madumere, MFR, KSC, FNIM. Former Deputy Governor, Imo State”.

He is yet to announce other political plans even as politicians are in last minute realignments ahead of the completion of Governor Hope Uzodimma second term in office.
