A retired assistant comptroller-general of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Alhaji Abdulmumini AbdulMalik, has been elected the national president of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU).
The election of AbdulMalik was a major highlight of the 58th annual national conference of the union which was held at Ilorin and Afon, headquarters of Asa local government area of Kwara State.
Others elected alongside AbdulMalik were Alhaji AbdulRauf Issa, national vice president, Mal. Abubakar Imam, national secretary and Dr Jimoh Ajadi as first assistant national secretary.
Also elected were Alhaji Nurudeen Alao, second assistant national secretary, Barr. Taofeeq Oniyo and Alh Usman Salman who became national treasurer as well as Mal Suleiman Shuaib as the national financial secretary.
Others include Mr Bolakale Oloru, assistant national financial secretary, Mal. Nurudeen Ibrahiim, national publicity secretary, Mal. Suleiman Dagbo,assistant national publicity secretary, Mal. Moshood Pakata, national social secretary,Mal. Suleiman Alaro,assistant national social secretary, Barr. Daud Abdulkadir, national legal adviser; while Mallam Adam Alabere was elected as national auditor.
The new officials have been sworn-in by Dr Hamed Hamed and Barr. AbdulRauf Ajao.
