The immediate-past Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha has enjoined Nigerians, especially people in leadership positions to uphold integrity and hard work, saying they come with reward to the nation and the individuals.
Mustapha stated this in Mombol, Adamawa State during a event organised to honour an official of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Comptroller Haniel Hadison.
The ex-SGF stressed that selflessness and commitment to duty both help national development and attract personal honour.
Mustapha who was the hailed Hadison who has been promoted to the rank of Comptroller of Customs and is currently the Comptroller of Special Duties at the NCS headquarters, said the celebrant had long been known for diligent service offered without publicity.
He said, “This gathering reminds us of the things that work in our society, these include consistent efforts and dedication. From enlistment to the present, the celebrant has exhibited a mind for service, leading always by example. A very quiet but profoundly reliable man.
“It gladdens my heart that we still recognise the value of honouring integrity at a time the world chooses to reward money and empty noise. This honour for Haniel tells us that hard work still pays and is duly rewarded.”
In a goodwill message, the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adeniyi attested that Hadison is a leading light whose impact has been deeply felt by the NCS.
For his part, paramount ruler of the Hong people, the Tol Huba, Alheri Bulus Nyako, described Hadison as a true son of the Huba who is committed to adding value to the community.
Earlier in his address, the Central Planning Committee of the reception led by Rev Simon Yohanna (rtd), noted that Hadison had been a pillar of unity for Mombol.
Yohanna added that Hadison has been a great succour for widows, the elderly and students whom he helps with palliatives and with scholarships.
In his own remark, the celebrant dedicated the recognition to collective efforts to develop the community. “I urge all of us to come together with greater unity for the sake of all our people,” he said.
