Some parents of the August 1st protesters released to the Kano State government have expressed happiness over their children’s return.

LEADERSHIP visited the Muhammadu Buhari Specialist Hospital, Ginginyu, where the young ones are kept for medical examination and recovery.

It was discovered that several parents came despite being informed of the Friday set day for the visit.

One of the parents cited by LEADERSHIP came with a basket containing two food warmers, among other things, and claimed it was her son’s favourite (Danwake).

Unfortunately for her, the security guard at the entrance didn’t allow her access to the facility. Despite not having access to her son, Rabi Usman expressed happiness over his return because she hadn’t seen him for over three months.

She said her family’s effort to secure the release of her 23-year-old son yielded no results, but in God’s infinite mercy, he has been returned.

Another parent, Amina Isa, who was also thankful to God for her son’s release, praised the state governor and other stakeholders for their contributions.

“Since the day before yesterday, when our representative informed us of the kids’ return, I’ve been excited. Alhamdullah!

“We are here to see them, but we were told till Friday before we can see them. Now I’m full of happiness and peace,” she added.

However, Hajiya Isa prayed for the progress of the state and the governor, among others, who facilitated the release of the children.

Meanwhile, Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Yusuf, while accompanying them to their respective wards, cautioned them against engaging in any protest and advised them to be advocates for peace.
