Amid revelation that Nigeria’s burden of Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs) is increasing as the country goes through an epidemiological transition, with 30 per cent of all fatalities in Nigeria, attributed to conditions like diabetes, cholesterol and hypertension, among others, a renowned Nephrologist and wellness coach at Iwosan Wellness Centre, Dr Banji Awosika has advocated for preventive care to avert the menace in Nigeria.
Awosika who spoke at the grand launch of the facility in Lagos, said NCDs are becoming public health issues in Nigeria.
“As a Nephrologist, I am tired of treating patients with conditions like diabetes and hypertension that could be prevented with preventive care. Iwosan Wellness is here to change the narrative as it offers a distinctive blend of comprehensive medical wellness assessments and lifestyle enhancement services which foster health consciousness and allow individuals to live optimally,” Awosika averred.
The Wellness Coach posited that his dedicated team help to tailor lifestyle services, ranging from fitness programmes and nutrition consultations to stress management and mindfulness practices, adding that by seamlessly integrating medical insights with bespoke lifestyle services, Iwosan Wellness empowers individuals to proactively enhance their health, foster resilience, and embark on a transformative journey towards sustained well-being.
