The chairman of the FCT FA, Alhaji Adam Mouktar Mohammed, has charged the FCT Football team to vigorously pursue gold in the football event at the 22nd National Sports Festival, which is set to take place in Ogun state.
Mouktar, who communicated this message through Coach Patrick Bassey, the head of the technical committee and a board member of the FA, addressed the team as they prepared to depart for Ogun State for the festival, scheduled for 16th to 30th May.
“The Chairman is thrilled that you have qualified for the football category and has assured you of his unwavering support for Team FCT, who have consistently performed well at the festival over the years,” Bassey said.
“We appreciate all the hard work you have put in; your commitment has not gone unnoticed. As you travel, please be excellent ambassadors of FCT and make us proud by winning gold, as your diligent preparation will surely be rewarded.”
In support of the team, the Chairman donated jerseys, footballs, training equipment, and officials’ attire, reinforcing the FA’s commitment to providing assistance whenever necessary.
Team captain Aliyu Abubakar promised the FA that the team would give their utmost during the competition in Ogun.
“We thank the FCT FA Chairman for his continuous support and encouragement. We will do our best as always and strive to bring back gold for FCT,” he stated.
Team FCT previously won the silver medal at the last festival, which was hosted by Delta State in 2022.
