Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has claimed that non-celebrities are more likely to find genuine love than public figures, citing the challenges of fame and irregular lifestyles.
Speaking on the Ada’s Room podcast, the rapper argued that people with stable 9-to-5 routines have the consistency needed to sustain meaningful connections. He noted that regular work schedules allow couples to bond more effectively compared to the chaotic life of an artist.
“Because as an everyday person, you just go to work and come back home to your woman after closing and repeat. You can create a routine where just one or two people challenge the routine in a year,” he said.
Blaqbonez explained that his career makes it impossible to maintain such stability, as he is constantly meeting new people and dealing with disruptions. He added that most interactions for celebrities are “engineered” or planned, making it difficult to meet people organically.
The artist also dismissed the idea of fairytale love, describing it as a distraction from reality. He admitted that his musician’s lifestyle prevents him from offering that romantic ideal.
“My lifestyle as an artiste is part of the reasons I can’t give anyone a fairytale love. If I were an everyday person who didn’t have to communicate with too many people, it would be easier to dedicate myself to one woman,” he added.
