Family In Crucial Meetings To Bring Doyin Abiola’s Corpse From Abroad

Family members of Dr Doyin Abiola, wife of winner the of June 12, 1993 presidential election, Chief Moshood Abiola were holding meetings to fine-tune preparations for the funeral of the late former Managing Director of the defunct Concord Newspaper.

Dr. Abiola died on Tuesday evening at the age of 82.

LEADERSHIP reliably gathered that the family meetings, which started around 9am on Wednesday morning did not end until around 7:30.p.m.

This newspaper gathered that the family was mostly bothered about how to bring home the corpse of the late widow of Chief MKO Abiola to Nigeria from abroad where she breathed her last.

Head of the Abiola family, Alhaji Tajudeen Abiola, who spoke with LEADERSHIP in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital via sms, confirmed that arrangements were in top gear in bringing back the corpse.

The text message read, “Good evening, so sorry. It’s meeting to meetings. She died in China. As soon as the arrangement is in place, I will notify you. Nice night”.
