One of the children of Alhaji Mohammed Sani Omolori, the late Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Abbas Mohammed Sani,
has petitioned the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to probe the alleged involvement of his brother Mr Abdulrazaq Ataba Sani Omolori, in the missing of the property of their late father.

The petitioner, asked the anti-graft agency to probe the longstanding case of criminal conversion, forgery, fraudulent sale, impersonation, and breach of trust involving family properties belonging to their late father.

In the petition he personally signed, he said the EFCC should probe the sudden disappearance of some of the property of their father, which was in the possession of Ataba.

He also called on the Commission to probe the illegal sale of some of the property which has caused so much division within the family for many years.

He told the Commission to probe the documents that were used to allegedly sell the family property in Mabushi, Asokoro, Maitama and Katampe, all within the Federal Capital Territory.

He said, “At a family meeting in 2017, Mr. Ataba falsely claimed that our father owned no land in Abuja and offered to swear by the Holy Qur’an to that effect. Evidence now confirms that our late father owned several properties in Abuja. We stated then that whoever is caught with one will be held accountable for the rest. Mr Ataba wrote our eldest brother decades ago that he will soon return all the family properties in his possession, in another development he promised several people that he will soon return the lands under contention to the family but always faulted.”

Abbas further said, “Multiple family-led reconciliation attempts-state government, religions, traditional and private failed due to Ataba’s refusal to engage.

“A 12-man committee set up by the Grand Khadi indicted him and asked him to compensate the family but he failed to comply.

“The family has exhausted all informal and preliminary remedies without redress. Given the magnitude of the alleged fraud—valued at over 7 billion—we humbly appeal to your reputable office to comprehensively investigate these matters in the interest of justice and accountability.

“Investigate the forgery, impersonation, fraudulent sales, criminal conversion, and misoppropriation of properties and contracts belonging to the estate of Alhaji Mohammed Sani Omolori by Mr. Abdulrazaq Ataba Sani Omolori.

“Recover assets found to have been unlawfully sold or converted. Prosecute all persons found culpable in accordance with the law. We are ready and willing to provide all supporting documents, witnesses, and further cooperation required by your office.”
